What Is A Photon?: A Unified-Wave Theory Explained
Published in Paperback by Wyndham Hall Press (10 October, 2000)
Average review score:

Review of a great bookAn excellent book to clarify the new physics.
Review of "What is a Photon?"This book has 292 pages not 184 pages as you describe it. It provides an excellent classical treatment for the basis of photons, quantum mechanics and aspects of special relativity. Perhaps the strongest feature of the book is the diversity of enigmas it clarifies. These include: The irreversability of time, the microscopic increase of entropy, wave/particle duality, a coaleascing of the motional conservation laws, the origin of uncertainty in differential equations, irrationality, why photon energy proportions to frequency rather than amplitude squared, an origin for the Lorentz transformation, time dilation, and much more. People with a scientific or technical background should be able to comprehend almost all of this material. The theory derives a unified-wave directly from the sequence of natural numbers. No complex mathematics is involved.

The Young and the Restless
Published in Hardcover by General Pub Group (March, 1998)
Average review score:

This book has a lot of neat stuff from 1973 to 1998Ithink this book is pretty neat and I got it for Christmas and I started reading it right away. In the wedding album though, you forgot to mention Victor and Ashley's marriage and Jack and Nikki's marriage. Why was that?
The absolute authority on the history of Y & R.An avid fan since the beginning, I have truly enjoyed going down memory lane and filling in the blanks of storylines long forgotten. This book covers every detail and depth of the characters and their development. Truly a must-have for anyone who has grown to love the people of Genoa City.

Accommodating Diversity: National Policies That Prevent Conflict
Published in Hardcover by Lexington Books (January, 2003)
Average review score:

diversityThis book is engaging and surprisingly readable. It shares many of the entertaining anecdotal qualities of Friedman's Lexus and Olive Tree, as Deutscher is well-traveled and has many personal observances. But it is first and foremost a usable compilation of cultural programs worldwide that work. Rather than focus on the well-known headlines-getting tragedies that erupt due to cultural differences such as the tragedies in Rwanda and Bosnia, Deutscher sheds light on policies that inhibit or put a stop to such behaviors. A must-read for public policy students, diplomats and those who are interested in peaceful solutions to cultural problems.

Accounting Principles (The Irwin Graduate Accounting Series)
Published in Hardcover by McGraw-Hill/Irwin (November, 1995)
Average review score:

Excellent Accounting theoryI find this book very interesting about accounting theory and principles. He base his structure about a revenus-expenses method, instead of the usual assets-liabilieties approach. Furthermore, the Author develops his structure starting from some declared principles, instead of implicit or misunderstood assumptions or preconceptions. He derives some operational concepts starting from these principles. His assumption about satisfying principle is most insteresting. The Author considers this satisfying principle as opposed to the maximisation principle as firm's objective. See also an article in Harvard Business Review, 1960. A book to buy, to study hard and to remember.

The Arabian Nights : A Companion
Published in Paperback by VHPS Virginia (Catalog listings Account) (January, 2004)
Average review score:

Good companionAs someone who loved the "Arabian Nights" since childhood, I eagerly read this book as well. For the most part, I wasn't disapointed. It does a wonderful job of setting the scene, discussing its origins, its distortions, and showing how the stories relate to medieval Arabian life. I was particularly impressed with the section discussing the connections between various story collections in both Asia and Europe. In short, this book helps the reader better understand this complex (and often confusing)work. The chapters are all clearly laid out and well argued, and the book as a whole is easy to read. He has complex ideas, but is able to communicate them fluidly.
One idea I would challenge, however. I believe the scholars who argue that the more "complete" manuscripts probably arose from increased European interest in it. It makes sense that writers would add filler to reach 1001 nights in response to consumer demand.
An interesting read for fans of "Arabian Nights."
